Default opponents cards not shown when all in pre-river PL/NL O8

Why is that? Is this only on Stars? Does anybody else think it sucks? I enjoy (torturing myself by) seeing what my opponent has and how my hand is doing as the board cards are revealed.

Cards are only shown when all in before the river in tournaments. In a cash game you do not have to show before the river and you are not obligated to show if you choose to muck hwne you lose. People can request to see any hand that goes to show down, but it is considered rude to make this request live. Online most sites allow you to see every hand that goes to showdown in the hand history as long as you are involved in the hand.
