VTech up 9 with 12 minutes left in the 4th, keep it going Hokies.

It's looking really good to snuff Virginia out of the picture as V. Tech is up 33-21 with 4:56 to go.

BC - I guess we will have to wait for V. Tech to beat them in the ACC championship as BC is probably going to beat Miami.

How awesome would it be if Illinois got to play Florida. Probably be the only road game I would ever try to go to.

Ok, so going into Championship week, what the hell needs to happen for us to go to a BCS bowl?

I think if OSU goes to top 2 we could go to the Rose Bowl?

We need Hawaii/ASU/BC/Tenn to lose. At least, as many of them as possible.

Here's a crosspost from something a pretty knowlegable guy posted on Illiniboard:

These would be the ideal results for the upcoming games this week (By CST kickoff time instead of ranking this week):

12:00 PM - #6 Virginia Tech vs #11 Boston College - Go Hokies. Makes it more likely to lock up 1 bid for the ACC and we pass Boston College in the BCS standings

3:00 PM - #7 LSU vs #14 Tennessee. Depends on the results of the noon game. If Virginia Tech wins we want Tennessee to win to keep Clemson out of the top 14. If Boston College wins we want LSU to win so that we can pass Tennessee in the BCS standings.

3:30 PM - #8 USC hosts #42 UCLA - Go Bruins. It's a longshot but the Bruins in the Rose Bowl would be sweet.

3:30 PM - #17 Oregon hosts #33 Oregon State - Don't know. If ASU and USC both win we want Oregon to win. If one or both of them lose, we want Oregon to lose too.

7:00 PM - #13 Arizona State hosts #56 Arizona - Go Wildcats. Could lock up 1 bid for the Pac 10 and we won't have to compete with ASU for the Fiesta Bowl.

7:00 PM - #1 Missouri vs #9 Oklahoma - Go Sooners. We want to play in the Rose Bowl, we need Missouri to lose to do it. And eff Mizzou.

TBD - #2 West Virginia hosts #78 Pittsburgh - Go Wanny. see above.

10:30 PM - #12 Hawaii hosts #64 Washington - Go Huskies. If nothing goes our way during the day this is our last hurrah. We need Hawaii to go down and go down hard.

There it is. Print it out, laminate it and take it to the big Weber State basketball game. Feel free to debate the merits of each game and try to sway me the other way.

Sounds reasonable, but...

I don't think this guy is as knowledgeable as you claim.

That said, the Illini side is a pretty big dog in all of these games. Troll, you can buy me out with just the avatar of my choice.

Also, forget about Tenn, between LSU, Tenn and UGA, the SEC is a lock to send two teams. The B12 is a lock as well.

Tenn is important to get us into the BCS top 14, no?
