Re: Most Annoying Local MLB Announcers
listening to the CWS game today made me want to kill. I really forgot how bad they are. It made me so happy to see them lose, although that may have been the money talking.

Re: Most Annoying Local MLB Announcers
I'm okay with Rizzs.
Haven't heard much of Niehaus but what I've heard I like. Jon Sciambi when he was with the Marlins was one guy I didn't like at all. Thought he was terrible and they just used him to fill occasional space around Joe Angel and Tom Hamilton. Since then he has moved all the way up to ESPN (he was doing the Reds/Cubs daygame today). But he's also improved a LOT. I'm kind of surprised I'm the only one so far in the Chip-Carey-haters camp. |

Re: Most Annoying Local MLB Announcers
I disagree mr. baseball,
Been listening to vin scully for a couple years now, and he's not a homer at all. While the home announer should concentrate on the actions of the home team, he shouldn't root for them. Most of the LA sports announcers are/were decidedly not homers. (scully, chick (MHRIP), bob miller) The angels guys suck, so I don't count them. (hudler, physioc(sp?)) I grew up listening to brennemen/nuxhall, and while pulling for the reds, they didn't cross the line into homerism. The SD guys are hilarious. The addition of tony gwynn is essential. |

Re: Most Annoying Local MLB Announcers
All announcers should be forced to listen to tapes of Gary Cohen to learn how to call a game.

[ QUOTE ]
Jerry Coleman would crack me up when he would do a national game on CBS radio. If he got stuck with an AL game he would have no clue who any of the players were. Isn't Vasgersian doing the Padres games on TV now? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, Vasgersian calls on the TV side with Mark Grant. I agree with you about Coleman, and that's why I can tolerate him. You have no idea what he'll screw up next, and that makes it entertaining. |
