4) He made a habit of procuring horribly profane and offensive bumper stickers. Then, for kicks, he would randomly stick them on unsuspecting people's cars in the parking lot where he worked at the mental health center.

In spite of all I screwed up he said he always knew that I would turn out OK.

If any family was in trouble he and my Mom were there for them, no questions asked.

When I'd buy a new (used) car, he'd find out from his mechanic friend the most likely problem and make sure I was prepared. For example, I used the replacement ceramic ignition module that he put in my glove box when it went out for no reason at an intersection.

When my best friend disappeared with my car keys after The Who concert, he drove downtown and picked me up.

A million more.

I'm going to post two. Try and keep em short.

I did something terrible when I was eight. My mum ordered my dad to smack me. Before he came to my room I put a book down my trousers to soften the blow although I didn't know what to expect as I didn't think he would dream of hitting me.
He obviously saw the outline of the book and said 'Aren't you the clever one', smiled proudly and left.

When I was nine and on holiday I found a piece of Amethyst which I still have but now know is totally worthless. He 'bought' it off me for £20. It probably took me two years to spend!

I thought your Dad was awesome because he fought Achilles knowing that he would die, just to protect his honour?

Okay, here are my two:

-When I became a poker player, my dad was immediately my biggest supporter and fan. Everyone else was skeptical, even as I was making a living and slowly moving up the ranks. My mom wasn't completely convinced until my WSOP final table. My dad? As soon as I heard I was making a living (a little over two years ago now) he immediately thought it was the coolest thing ever and started railing me online and asking me how I was doing and arranging trips for us to the casino and stuff. He started reading my poker books and watching it more on TV and asking me about those guys and whatnot.

-Then when I almost died, he was the first person at the hospital and was there for me just about the whole time, even sleeping in his car on occasion when he absolutely had to. I stayed with him for a few months afterward to recover, too, and it was a good place for me to be. I don't think I would have come out okay on the other side if he wasn't around.

I decided to bring him as my guest to next year's Aussie Millions (after he had a death scare of his own) and we had a great time. We didn't have much of a relationship when I was growing up, but now, it's better than ever.

The coolest thing about him, to sum it up, is that he's totally supportive of all of his kids in whatever we do and he roots for us. That goes a long way.

You probably don't go to parties because you don't want to hang out with people who put toxic substances in their bodies.
