Default Ok. So I try a bluff

£50 live mtt - only 19 runners, starting stacks 7500. We are 9 handed and they view me as TAG with ability to pull of big moves but capable of decent laydowns.

2nd level 50/100 My stack 7500 and oppo has me just covered.

Villain in the cut-off raises to 300, button calls and I call in the SB with 4 3 off (ugh), BB folds . The button knows the villain is a station so he is likely to re-raise any monsters. He knows I know this.

The flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

I check, cut-off bets 300 and the button folds. I call (ugh).

The turn is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I lead for 900 into the pot of 1600. The cut-off calls pretty quickly.

The river is a blank 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I quickly lead again for 1700.

Thoughts? I will give mine after a few responses.

Btw tourney only pays top 3 but there is an overlay of £220 as they guaranteed £500 for 1st place.

I like this. Looks like you played it as a flush if you're viewed as TAG. I think you could get him to fold a moderate ace here, but he will probably call you down with AJ-AK.

Wow, I was hoping for some decent responses as I feel it is a pretty interesting (if a little standard) hand; bluffing into a a guy with an obvious ace in a deep stack donkament...

So the villian was a "station" as you described him, and you try to bluff him off top pair...

I've tried, but I cant see this being anything but bad, especially after he calls quickly on turn. Thats a pretty good indication he isn't too worried/ thinking about you having the flush.

I'm from london, where was the tourney? SOunds like a pretty good structure for £50

Oh and this is 100% a fold pre flop, if you want get tricky with trash, don't do it against stations and do it in position. The 50 you put in as SB makes zero difference here.

Jammy,

It's in Hendon, North London. I would say the standard ranges from terrible to pretty decent, no one special...I can give you the exact location if ur interested...

fold.fold.fold. you look like a pair w busted flush draw here on turn. the 900 turn bet is too strong to be flush. if i was playing id say this guy is FOS and call if i had an ace.btw if called id bet my next strong hand very strong bc they are more likely to call.

I'd go for fold PF too. Why put in T250 OOP with 43o? If you wanted to make a move you could consider restealing but if the villain is a "station" that is definitely not recommended in this position. I would just fold preflop.
