Default Questions about hd and my setup

My setup consists of
1)DLP projector (not sure max res but can go plenty high for use with movies/games prob wouldn't wanna multi table on it)
2)XBOX 360
3)Dolby 5.1 Surround (an older RCA model)
4)VGA cords to connect XBOX to projector(XBOX can even run in moniter resolutions as opposed to 1080 720 ect)
5)Optical cables to connect XBOX to amp

I am really interested in HD movies. Am I best suited for the HD-DVD player that hooks w/ the XBOX? any cords that could make my setup run better.
I don't think my projector has an hdmi input does this make blueray impossibe?

Probably the cheapest route for you, but there have been a lot of failures w/ this as well.

No, you don't need HDMI to run a BR video. However, it will need to be HDMI or (I think) VGA to get 1080p.
