That wording is used throughout, and from the way the sentences are used throughout genesis 2, I felt it was obvious this form did not mean 'already'.
But w/e, we have already confirmed ambiguity here, so it is not a big deal. Both mythically and philologically the myths seem different though - note how genesis two focuses on 'from the earth' - a clear heritage from different myths than genesis 1 where the creator creates all from with his own power and how the forms of expressions are also very different. |
