Default For the atheists - a choice of belief.

I'm a strong atheist, and have often pondered this question myself, so I ask this question for you other atheists/agnostics/undecided/skeptics out there: If some existing religious or near-religious belief system was suddenly proved to be true, which one would you rather it should be, and why?

Well, the 72 virgin offer sounds pretty good right now.

what else is on the table? I'll allergic to feathers and harp music is too placid for me so that eliminates some.

I'm not sure how one could be proven true so I'm floundering here. If I woke up in hell, agaaaainn, I'd just as soon that wasn't the proof I was looking for.

Actually, I think this 'wishing' just doesn't suit me, I just seem to prod along and deal with what pops up. Maybe other answers will stir something.

who calls him the hitch?

Anyway, I'd try to find some religion where no one goes to hell, and then pick that one. It's hard to prefer christianity when that entails so many billions roasting forever.

I believe I threw in the "the" there. Regardless of anyone else calling him that, I like the nickname and will continue to use it. I will never meet him in person so hey its my peragative, I do hope it it sticks, though.

Probably the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Just because it would be ironic. I am not sure what's gonna happen because of all those jokes cracked at his expense though.

I would want the religion with the best afterlife from the set of religions that don't include a hell. This might not be the religion with the highest expected value, but I'm extremely averse to variance when it comes to my plight for eternity.

I would say Mormonism since I would have the chance of some day becoming a God, and I think no one goes to hell (Is this wrong?).
