Dude. You have a betting pattern "tell" and you didn't even notice it I think (like a lot of people that have this one).
A double check raise on a hu match is almost ALWAYS a draw... for almost everybody. srsly. You see: You checkraise flops to get fold equity etc etc . Then the turn comes. You have a big draw but not a real high % of hitting anymore. So you check, hoping that he got scared of your raise and will let you see the river. Because what you really dont want is to make a good sized bet on the turn and get shoved on for way too much than you can call. Now humm what does he do? He bets out. Humm wait a minute I got a big draw and I just raised him? He might think I got a monster if I raise again!! Fold equity take 2!!! (that was the thought process that happens a lot with a double cr in hu... not necessarily how I view the game.) All I really wanted to say. If he knew that kind of pattern then it might have been an excellent read and some balls to go with it |
