Re: Checkcalling with a set again
[ QUOTE ]
wow. when he bets the river id usually be salivating. might as well never checkraise the river ever if you cant pull the trigger here. [/ QUOTE ] Honestly, without an image like yours or at least like mine, I think the c/c is not bad. I can see villain folding 2pr a lot. There are way more combos of straights than sets (depending how light he calls preflop). |

I really don't think the river play is bad...

Re: Checkcalling with a set again
So you are never c/ring the river here? Or I guess, if you do, it is a bluff 100% of the time?

[/ QUOTE ] its early in my first session against the guy, i don't have much of an image and he's never seen me c/r a river before. my read is that he's very very likely to raise flop with any two pair or set but likely to just call a decent portion of the time with the straight draws. given that plus the fact that he may fold 2 pair and will almost never call with 1 pair, i stand by my assertion that I'm behind more than half the time I'm called. |

Re: Checkcalling with a set again
I dont think we can just start eliminating hands. We know nothing of the players history except hes weak-tight yet a winning pro. With that I count 45 hand that you can beat (two pairs and sets) and 48 hands you cant (straights).
That makes your check-raise about even money...which isnt great. But even if we can eliminate 63, youre still only a ~9-7 favorite to have the best hand. Thats bad. |
