Sorry, does no one here know what a cultist role is in werewolf?

A cultist is team evil, like a sorcerer.
A cultist knows the wolves (in this case partly).
However, they do not count as a wolf because if all the wolves are dead but they are alive, they lose... they do not count for parity in an end game.

I'm really confused. Do y'all not play with a cultist?
