Default Need Help

Im a Canadian citizen and Im planning on travelling to AC and Vegas in the near future. Im just wondering about the declaration of any winnings that are the result of poker. Do I have to declare all winnings on my return trip or only if they excede a certain amount? Also will the casino automatically deduct the ridiculous 30% tax when they cash me out and leave it up to me to fight to get it back? Any help would be great, especially from any othe Canadians who have experience here.

The casino wont take 30% or whatever (cash games)... The only time you would run into tax things is for tournaments. So if you are only playing cash games, you wont have any tax worries...

FYP because most casinos believe all guests are good tax paying citizens and thus believe you will pay your taxes on any wins and deduct losses on your own. Not to mention, a casino isn't a liscensed financial instituation or a part of the federal government.

I believe you just have to declare cash amounts over $10K when crossing the border. If you're up a lot and are afraid you'll give it back, I see no problem with mailing some money orders back home to yourself.
