Estimation of this forum\'s EV
I am almost done reading all the topics in here. Printed out all of them. Beeing new to HU 2 weeks ago, playing and reading I feel that I became from 10% player to at least 55-60%. First reading and comprehensing was hard in some posts, but keep playing and reading I've started to get the whole picture. So here it goes, my main point of this topic is:
Reading this whole HU section and practicing is huge EV. I aproximated it at roughly 20-40K per year with table selection alone. Thanks guys for doing this. Pls, keep it coming! Cheers. |

Re: Estimation of this forum\'s EV
game selection is the key, IMO. At least at the $50+ stakes.

Completely agreed. Forum/Learning + Game Selection = Gold.

Re: Estimation of this forum\'s EV
With HU I honestly believe that getting out and playing is several factors better than posting here, especially for beginners. To be honest, most of the hands posted here could be boiled down to, "what's your read?" It's somewhat unfortunate...
That being said, you could have interesting discussions on key elements that lead you to think your opponent is playing in a certain manner which could lead to some revelations. |

Re: Estimation of this forum\'s EV
The thing about posting "read based" hands as a beginner is you begin to realize what do look for in a read to influence your decisionmaking into the most optimal play.
A good hand or two that gets a good reply or two given different reads can save you a lot of games played with a leak that can otherwise be fixed. Learning on your own always has a lower limit of success compared to learning from others + working hard on your own to apply what you know. |
