Of Saudi\'s Casinos and Native Americans
I was talking to a aquaintance who is part Mohegan the other day. He told me a couple things i found interesting. All the Mohegans who live on the reservation get $200,000 annualy from the Mohegan Sun. The Pequots get $400,000 annually all tax free from F'woods. Also the primary investors in both casinos are Saudi. Allegedly the Mohegans still owe the Saudi's a ton of $$$. Those Saudi's seem to do a good job of diversifying their investments.
Anyone know anything about this stuff? |

Re: Of Saudi\'s Casinos and Native Americans
It's "Saudis", not "Saudi's".
The Foxwoods inital investor was a Malaysian casino monopoly owner who made his second killing in CT. From your info I guess he sold out a while back. What's really frustrating about these details is the fact that US investors were apparently too stupid to see a giant gold mine staring them in the face. Makes you wonder what other low-hanging fruit is out there. |

Re: Of Saudi\'s Casinos and Native Americans
my source was Mohegan, so he obviosuly knew more about about M Sun. It's hard to imagine there were no interested U.S. investors. Maybe the tribes were compelled to go with outside investors because of lingering resentment?
