RR - really bizarre... the only thing I can think of is if your wife made an appointment with a psychiatrist. Then I suppose this could maybe be a relevant question (i.e. potential cause of anxiety or depression).

It might be one of many risk factors for certain ailments (lung cancer off the top of my head --- maybe depression) That doesn't seem too big of a stretch to me.
