Re: PokerFink\'s 2007 NFC Rankings (Preseason)
[ QUOTE ]
How do you think Grossman will perform this year? [/ QUOTE ] I think he will continue to be inconsistant. When he started off hot last year, I think that was largely due to a surprising deep attack that caught defenses offguard. He won't be able to repeat that because everyone is ready for Berrian and the Dragon. But with that said, we should see a little more Good Rex and a little less Bad Rex; that comes with experience. [ QUOTE ] Am I off base thinking that he has the physical talents to be a starting 2nd tier QB in this league? I have been unable to watch the pre-season games so I can't see for myself but all I hear is that he is improving his mechanics and is really a QB going into his 2nd full season. [/ QUOTE ] What do we consider 2nd tier QB? Something like 7th-12th? No. Not this year atleast. He might have the physical talent but he doesn't have the mental game. His DVOA was 33rd last year, that should improve, but into the 20's, not into the teens. I haven't seen him in preseason either fwiw. |

Re: PokerFink\'s 2007 NFC Rankings (Preseason)
CC, here's what FO's PFP2007 books says.
Grossman will go about 59%, 3500 yards, 23 TDs and 16ints. They think he's similar to Kitna in starting in their 3rd year and may end up similar to him in the end. If Griese starts, they think 58%, 3261 yards, with 11-14 TD INT ratio. Orton- 56%, 2700 yards, and 17-18 TD INT. |

I think Atlanta is too low--I expect them to be significantly better than Tampa Bay and Detroit, and slightly better than Minnesota.

fink,
My definition of 2nd tier would be more along the lines of top 10-20 QBs in the league. Jack Bando, If he performs like that I will be very pleased. |

1-15. everybody but green bay
16. green bay, there isn't a single game on the first half of their schedule where they should be the favorite and they are headed for a 2-14 season. |

Re: PokerFink\'s 2007 NFC Rankings (Preseason)
LOL @ Dallas #9, especially when you cite replacing Parcells vanilla 3-4 with Wade Phillips attacking 3-4 defense as a negative. I am also leery of Romo repeating his success, but with the weapons on that offense, he will at worst be a average to above average NFL QB.
Eagles fan I presume? |

Can you compare and contrast Tony Romo and Rex Grossman's prospects for the coming year. And what stats/evidence you base your assertions on.
