You are now ignoring this user. You will no longer see the body of any of his or her posts.

Instead of "their."</nit>

You could well be right; but I'd question it.

"Their" implies plural, and "His or her" keeps it singular, (as it is meant to be by the context), in my book.

i think instead of fixing the grammar we need to require that you ignore multiple users at a time. There are always users you meant to ignore, but sometimes you never got around to clikcing the little button...

It would be more motivation. It won't ignore anyone till you have at least 3 posters queued up to be ignored, in which case the grammar would be correct. Thoughts?

I like it and literally lol'ed. Although as mod of the grammar forum, I have to point out the error that would then occur. The message would then have to say that you are ignoring "these users." It sucks to see such a good idea die.

Slightly off-topic, I wonder if this thread as inspired any persons to troll me in hopes of noting any grammatical errors. And if not, this musing might.

In ATF we work by the axiom that it all comes to those who wait.

Hey guys, I found one!

"Moderator(s) notified In a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum."

Shouldn't the "In" be lowercase?

And a comma thrown in there would be nice as well.

"Moderator(s) notified, in a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum."

I think I'll choose a full stop, (period), when I do the rewrite:

"Moderator(s) notified. In a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum."

More importantly, as we are talking grammar, , it should be:

"Moderator(s) notified. In a moment you will be returned automatically to the forum."

I think it's called the "split infinitive syndrome". The most well known example is in Captain Kirk's famous prologue:

"... to boldly go ..."

which always causes a titter to run round the audience at our conventions.
