Default Dennis Kucinich for President

Well, no one will likely post this, so I'll do it. Dennis Kucinich, congressman from Ohio, is seeking the 2008 nomination. He's basically an ideal liberal candidate, and hell he's even a vegan. But he's not exactly a media darling, nor does he raise money terribly well. So it's unlikely that he'll get it.

Well, as long as we're posting about random cult-following congressmen that have no chance in hell of getting elected...

Care to do a cost/benefit analysis of his (soon to be) failed campaign? Maybe just from 2004, look at what his effort contributed vs what it cost.

Nader seems to run most every time too. Ask Gore what the costs of that might be.

Possibly. I really don't know anything about him. I just saw that he had announced and read a quick rundown of his viewpoints.

OK, apparently he just made the city default on some of its obligations. Still, the story of his stint as mayor of Cleveland does not inspire confidence in his executive abilities.

Well in that case I'm glad he has a snowball's chance in hell at getting elected. Imagine the horror of having a fiscally irresponsible person in the White House.

Well, it depends on what you want.

From his viewpoint, defaulting was the better option, and, some believe, turned out in the long run to be more beneficial to the public than selling a city-owned utility under tremendous pressure from area businesses. Your interpretation will probably depend on what you think is right, but it is fairly clear that there were shenanigans on the part of business.

I don't particularly like Kucinich as a presidential candidate, but in this particular episode, he showed a level of spine not evident in most modern politicians.

I have no doubt that he means well, but his platform concerning foreign trade is dangerous. Awful candidate. Way, way too far to the left.
