1) we can't be terribly worried about one flushdraw when we have a ton of equity even if he hits (and of course the possibility that we improve when he does)

2) there aren't many made hands he can have here to call a 3b on this flop (effectively calling an allin). see #1. if he doesn't have a made hand, he'd need a draw, and i don't think there are enough X[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Y[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] hands to get it in against.

3) if he's bluff raising with air, he'll probably quit since there aren't many true scare cards to attack on the turn.

4) HOWEVER, he may look at a stop'n'go as fairly weak and shove the turn over our raise

I think this line doesn't have much merit considering how spewy people get in bvb confrontations these days... I like a call turn c/r as a standard line..

He probably had air and just just trying it on on the flop. Even if you do call planning to raise the turn he will probably put out one of those annoying $8 bet into a $40 pot which will leave you feeling cheap!

The only thing he can have here that wants to put more money in is a flush draw, overpair or smaller set all of which you get more value from by 3 betting.
