Situation 2. Walk into the locker room and two guys sitting on the couch nekid watching TV

[/ QUOTE ]

I haven't been in a locker room in 20 years, but I don't remember them having TV's or couches. Seriously, WTF? At what point did locker rooms cross over from taking care of business to a good place to spend time?

I'm still trying to figure out why someone would need to shave at the gym.

This strikes me as pretty weird too. People with time to lose who thought the gym was a good place to lose it used to go to gyms as an excuse to chat up the girls at teh juice bar. Now they spend it all before they even get out of the locker room?

My very nice gym has no couch, and a thankfully low number of naked old dudes.

My old gym, which catered to a large number of gay folk, more nakeds.

I work at a pool and it sucks when someone needs someone in locker room or left something....etc

Also have to go in there and just stare at my feet

It seems that most of the naked people are over 40 years old... I wonder if that is significant.

A ton of 40+ dudes swam naked during gym class. It wasnt a big deal back then. They still dont think its a big deal. I dont really think its a big deal, but dont exactly like seeing some 70 yr old grandpas dick for fun.

Whenever I go to the locker room at Bally's (Total Fitness, not the casino) about 10% of the people are walking around completely naked.

I know that this happens in locker rooms everywhere, but I cannot imagine myself being comfortable naked in front of so many strangers. If they just got out of the shower and needed to change into street clothes, I wouldn't mind so much (towel changing might be difficult for older folks). But I've seen wayyyy too many people shaving naked in front of the shower without a care in the world. There are times where I have to look at the ground or the ceiling to avoid seeing another man's unit.

Maybe if they all looked like Patrick Antonius it wouldn't be so bad, but the naked ones are oftentimes some of the least attractive people at the gym.

It seems that most of the naked people are over 40 years old... I wonder if that is significant.

Maybe I'm the only 40+ guy to respond. I think the age issue is significant.
Back in the old days, a lot of men joined the military, where you showered together every day, like it or not.
When I was young, I had a gym teacher who said that if he had his way, we would all swim naked when we had pool. If you didn't show up with a swimsuit, you still had to go in anyway. I think it was equality kick, how we're all the same under our clothes. It was like it was a public shower in Japan or something. I, for one, am glad those days are over. We went overboard in the old days.
We were supposed to get over our bashfulness. And if you didn't want to take a shower in front of other people, you were some kind of sissy.
Everyone took a shower after gym class, and I remember even our gym teachers joined us sometimes. It was the old school attitude.
I notice now, after coaching basketball for a few years, that no one takes a shower after practice, they just go straight home.

homosexuality didnt exist back then.

Since homosexuals cruising in gyms became standard/significant part of gym business.
