$200NL Commerce Casino Rules Question

I am playing $200 NL at Commerce Casino when the following situation comes up. On the flop player A bets $50. Player B is a new player and he says raise $10 and he puts in $60. The dealer tells him that he cannot raise $10 and pushes the $10 back. Several players start to argue.

What should be the dealers move, should he do what he did and push the $10, back, force the player to make a full minimum raise, or call the floor for a decision?

What should the floor decide, he said raise 10, should he be forced to raise 50 more which is the minimum, or should he be allowed to just call if he wishes?

I'm not a rules expert but I'll chime in since you haven't had any responses yet.

Verbal actions are binding so I think the right answer is that player B should have been required to put in enough chips to make at least the minimum raise. Check out Robert's Rules for an official interpretation. A copy can be found here:

Verbal is binding but if a player makes an illegal verbal statement how can you make him comply. If the newbie did say "raise $10" then this is an illegal statement. I'm no floor manager but I would rule it as an incorrect play that doesn't stand. (What if he said check? verbal is binding right?..lol) What I would do is rule it a call, which from your post is what it sounds like the dealer did.

And the minimum raise for Player B is not $50. I assume the blinds are 1/2. Player A bet $50 which is a raise of $48. Player B's minimum bet, should he decide to raise, is $98. He needs to double the previous bet or, if it's a raise double the raise

The previous bet is zero (aka check) so $100 is the correct raise. This is postflop, had the $50 been a preflop raise, you would be correct.

As for OP, I'd rule $100 is the required amount. "Raise" is a binding action.

This is the commerce 200 Games. Blinds are 3 & 5.
