Default Collin Moshman SNG strategy

I bought this book to help my SNG game as I'm just beginning to add these to my regular play. It advocates very tight play early on, which I agree with to an extent, but he goes so far as to advocate folding AQo UTG early in a SNG. I realize there are other factors to consider, but this just seems excessively tight to me. Is this standard or do I need to rethink things a bit?
