You guys are high if you think IU is getting left out.
Who do you think is going to fill the stands better at a random crappy bowl game? Team X: 6-5 in a 2nd/3rd teir conference and has been to 3 other toilet level bowls in the last 6 years. Indiana: Large School with a massive alumni base and the longest bowl drought in the big ten.

[/ QUOTE ] noodleman - what specific bowl-game are you referring to then? There is only ONE bowl spot that is an at-large and I think even they sort of have an agreement with Navy. Every single other bowl spot out there has conference tie-in's which I believe the bowl is forced to stick with unless that conference doesn't get enough bowl-eligible teams. Yes, the bowls really can pick some 4th or 5th place CUSA team over an 8th place Big10 team. The reason they can is because currently they have no choice. 4th and 5th CUSA spots are already locked into bowls. 8th Big10 spot is not locked into any bowl anywhere and there aren't going to be any at-larges available unless they get some help. IU's best chance is for a conference like CUSA or PAC10 to fall 1 short on the number of eligible teams so that THEN another bowl out there gets to choose whoever they want.

Kent State, Arkansas State, ULL, SMU, PITT, KAN, Wyoming, Arizona and Washington State. Breaking it down by conference it appears realistic that IU could get left out...especially if they lose to NW. Even with 7 wins IU could use some help in the CUSA and PAC10. If a couple of those teams still in the running lose the rest of their games and fail to qualify then that will help IU a ton.

even then, it's likely Detroit for the Motor City well, at least one of IU's major sports will be in the postseason

IU won't get a bowl with 6 wins IU is playing for the Motor City Bowl IU is 50/50 right now to face postseason sanctions over the latest NCAA violations in men's basketball
