[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] So what is a realistic estimate of his BR right now? I would assume its well over 10m but would be interested to know. [/ QUOTE ] Under $1 million. (factors in taxes, expenses, investments) [/ QUOTE ] FWIW Didnt anyone ever teach you nits that it's not proper to count other peoples money? Also...taxes, you actually think these online idiots are paying taxes? Tell me...what exactly would they chalk that up under? Trust me BT seems like a nice enough guy but all of these online databases and blogs for these guys are going to cause them major trouble in the next year or so. Why would you document everything you do? And for CTS...is he 21? I hear there are some people around the Bellagio wondering the same thing. [/ QUOTE ] what % of the forum graduated from high school? |

Re: $3 Million Downsizing.............
[ QUOTE ]
The bankroll question is an interesting one. I think poker player's bankrolls are widely overestimated. I think the most successful internet players that play those nosebleed stakes probably have around 6-8 million. It wouldn't suprise that some have half that. I'm guessing after Brian's downswing, he's at roughly 4-5 million. Which is plenty, but definitely should be careful considering the stakes and long sessions he often plays. I personally believe that there is too much variance in poker to keep a bankroll above 10 million, especially playing nosebleed cash games. [/ QUOTE ] Shouldn't the variance keep your overall bankroll well over the ammount that you decide to use in one of your sessions? I am personally a sport punter (relative new to the world of poker) and even if I am able to get odds on a certain sport result that to me look completely wrong after having evaluated the event I never bet more than 5% (some even don't go over 3%) of my entire bankroll on it. Shouldn't the same logic apply also in poker, not in the moment when you bet, but when you sit in a table and you have to decide how much money you want to have available? |

Re: $3 Million Downsizing.............
In late 2006, the biggest downswing aba'd ever gone on was 9.5 buyins, all the way up to the highest stakes games. Can't imagine why some folks are jealous. But hitting some variance in the other direction will undoubtedly bring his game to a whole new level - if he can handle it. Will be interesting to see what happens.
