Structure seems really fast - 20 min lvls and the jumps start getting steep after 500/1000

10k starting chips/20 min lvls

Starting from Level 7
500/1k 50 ante
1k/2k 100 ante
2k/4k 200 ante
huge jumps at these levels.

The blinds go from 400/800 to 2k/4k w/ 200 ante in one hour.

i'm thinking they pretty much have to do the structure this way to ensure that a field that size will complete the tournament in one day, since i don't think they're allowed to run any single tourney that goes for multiple days.

Im not sure why they could not run a multi day tourney? Anyway the structure offered and considering the big field that will play really makes this tourney little more than a crapshoot. If im not mistaken doesn't the Tampa Downs cardromm offer a better structure tournament on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for $80?

Also they advertise the prize structure so do they have to pay it? Or are they just so confident they can run high buy in crapshoot and get players it doesn't matter?

iirc there is something in the law that states they cannot run a multiple day tournament. either way they're running satellites constantly, and a significant portion of the seats are being bought up by sponsors, so it should fill. last time i was there, the dealers all seemed to think it would fill by the end of this month.

The tournament is almost sold out.

It is limited to 500 seats........ they are giving two seats away everyday for the high hands from 12-6 and 6-12 so that is around 100 right there.........then you have the satelite winners taking another chunk..........plus the 100+ minimum that have allready placed the $50 deposit down to insure a seat in the tourney.

I placed my deposit down a week ago and was #50 on the list at that time.

If you plan on entering this tourney, do so shortly.

By the way, they are giving away prizes during the tourney to players that include Bucs tickets, merchandise, etc., etc AND they having a free dinner with free drinks for the players the day before the tourney.............other than the short structures, this is a great tourney and one not to miss in anyway, shape, or form if it fits into ones schedule and bankroll.

There is also a rumor that 100+ sponsored entrants are flying in from a well known California cardroom.........again, if one plans on entering this tournament I would suggest doing so very soon.

Why not just play a Ok tourney at the Tampa Downs instead of a $500 Turbo? Flying in a jet for this LOL!

Typicall but they won't change it 'cause "they" keep playing....I quit playing their tourneys a LONG time ago! Too bad someone there can't structure a decent game.
