Default 3bet AQo OTB, 2/4nl

I have no meaningful stats on the villain during this hand, I've only been at the table just over one orbit, in that time he hasn't done anything weird, raised twice pf and took it down both times I think.

No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $2/$4 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $195.10
BB: $277.00
UTG: $400.00
MP: $740.70
CO: $438.40
Hero (BTN): $483.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)
2 folds, CO raises to $14.00, Hero raises to $48.00, 2 folds, CO calls $34.00

Flop: ($102) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
CO checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($102) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
CO bets $76.00, Hero calls $76.00

River: ($254) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
CO bets $175.00, Hero ... ?

Comments welcome on all streets. I have obviously under represented my hand here, do I have to call this because of that, or can I throw this one away? I find it fairly hard to believe he's value betting a worse ace (that he'd call pf with) or 2nd pair here.

Also, what changes if he's fairly nitty (14/11, and assuming I still choose to 3bet pf)?

I would prolly fold here. Looks like you are beat either by AK or a set. Hes definately not afraid of the ace and the size of his bet reaks of a value bet.

Meh, it's all a matter of bluff frequency really. Only valuebet hands here are 66,77,88,T9, many of which he may fold preflop. Based on how this hand played out, I'm calling most of the time.

Def bet flop here, you are not likely to induce an oop bluff from a player on Axxx just because u checked the flop. What u do do is allow them to either hit a 2 outer or get away cheaply when they do make a mistake and call preflop with AJs or Axs

I don't think betting the flop is necessarily bad here, but betting for protection (with almost no possibility for extracting value) against a hand you think has 2 or 3 outs seems v. bad to me.

Also, is AJ (or a smaller Ax) really calling 3 streets here? I don't see it, so checking the flop against this type of hand seems fine to me against someone who's not a total calling station.

I checked the flop in order to induce a bluff or a call from him on later streets. But, I got the feeling on the river that I was beat since there's almost nothing I beat he's value betting and imo it'd be a pretty poor bluff after I called the turn on this board.

I folded the river, he didn't show, seems like most ppl agree as played. I would bet this flop sometimes, but it'd be because I bet this flop a ton when I miss, not for protection against his pocket pair.
