I'm not hating, really. I found it funny--it wasn't like "LOL---you're a jackass for thinking that about you're smarter than Darwin/Einstein when you work in a bar." It was "LOL--That's a funny way to put this video together. I work in a bar. I'm smarter by normally used measurements than Einstein or Darwin." I don't question his intelligence, but I do question some of his decisions. You're right though, that's just me projecting my values onto him.

I can see that that's not really how my post reads, so I get where you're coming from though. There's nothing wrong with working in a bar at all---I have a massively overdeveloped sense of my own intelligence, and I worked in bar for several years. I'm actually considering doing it again for a bit.

To add: I actually just read that he lives with his neuropsychologist wife, and they operate a horse ranch in Missouri.

part 3 on youtube, is awesome. as much as I hate to say it, I agree completely, if we want to take human life to that "next level", it is exactly what we would have to do.

QFT. It annoys the heck out of me when someone is a jargonoholic or acts like for some reason anyone who doesn't know whatever he knows, no matter how trivial, is an idiot.

I remember I went to apply for a job when I first came to L.A. I was an outstanding honors student, voracious reader, and no slacker. The employer started off by giving me an "intelligence test" that consisted of naming the local city councilmen. I told him I just moved to California from Hawaii, so of course I didn't know that. I "flunked." That was basically the entire interview. What a jackass.

I have no idea if he's as smart as he says, but IF HE IS, he's being unfathomably selfish by spending his time blathering about high-level planning that will never happen. Plz to address a specific scientific problem & solve it sir!
