Default 8/b-Facing a possible move from the Loose Imaginative BI

Seat 8 is the type of player to make this c/r with a small pair and a 7-low draw. How might you have played this differently?

7 Card Stud High-Low ($10/$20), Ante $1, Bring-In $3 (converter)

Fold 3rd. Fold 4th. 5th looks OK. River is borderline call/fold.

You never should have been in that hand. I say fold on 3rd.

you and betgo wouldn't play this with live 7's and 4's and no aces on board?

Well, Stud 8 isn't my game of choice but maybe I'd stay on 3rd if I wouldn't have to call a raise. But, I'd still fold on 4th regardless.

One of the 7's is dead already.

the real problem with playing this hand is that your eight is showing and that is a huge disadvantage because now ppl can really push you around and put you in some tough spots (as they did)

Folding third here would be pretty dumb. The 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] almost never has 3 low cards here so the only person you have to worry about is the bringin. This time it looked like he might actually have had a decent hand, these things happen. Everything is fine up until the river where I can make myself fold when we're faced with a raise.

3rd is marginal, 8-7 lows especially lead to trouble. I'd probably fold but calling may be ok if you know when to ditch. The 8 up is also trouble.
4th is a fold. If you both catch good on 5th, they are right to stay in, and you have only a terrible one way low draw. Without the straight draw, get out.
5th... with your read you have to stay in, otherwise I would fold.

River is marginal, although it looks like you were right. You are almost always throwing away bets here, but when the BI goes crazy you have to call more than usual.

I assume you mean 6's, which are completely live. In any case, 8-7 lows have huge reverse implied odds in multiway pots.

thanks, all your points are well taken concerning the weakness of the hand; i should have mucked in this agressive game with the 8 up.
