Default Re: 20$ Rebuy, failed bluff in late stage - reasonable play or suicide?

Like previous posters wrote, I'd also prefer a reraise to 7.5k or 8k pre-flop and flop is a raise too, to find out a bit more where you probably stand.
Not done that way, on Turn I'd call again and the same on River. I assume he will not bet more on river if river is blank to that board.
In this situation I would play that way to gain information cheaply (and you get great pot odds).
It must not be the right play, but I would like to know with which cards he played that strange and I record that for further action.
In some rare cases you might get shown AQo ...
Nevertheless, villain played the hand quite bad, imo.

Hag - thanks for your real helpful comment. At least it was extremely important to enrich this thread with your wisdom.

But you obviously missed that I did not ask for an assessment of my play but for hints how to play this situation correctly. You seem not to know either ...

After the flop, -- calling -- just showed that YOU didn't have a K.

Once you decide to bluff. Picture what hand you're representing (KK or , after the flop maybe trip 8s or 3s...whatever) and play it just like that's what you had.

Also, did you have to try that bluff with someone that has such a big stack (compared to yours)?

Bluffing is about creating fear, it is far more difficult to create that fear when someone can afford to lose.

I think your 6000 raise to his bet was too little.

But once that was done,
A 7,500 + raise post flop would've probably won. if not, you're done with it. better luck next time.

But just calling 1200, and folding on the turn....
Once it got to the turn, and he bet only 1200, you should have represented a TRAP and really jammed it.

The way it was played Sounds like the kind of thing I might do when I'm playing distracted, or tired....and then lose sleep over later. ;-)

(PS, Most of the time, I do play distracted or tired...)

Don't try to read into this guy's flop bet... just decide if you're going to represent a hand or not, and play as if you have one or fold.

Reraise it to 8-9k or something and play your hand like they are aces.
If you come in strong, actin like you have a monster then dont look at what you have with the board, play like u have the nuts.
