theory/ethics- being an @sshole
Okay, so some of you may have noticed recently that i was being a huge a sshole at the table (hi jedipokertrix). basically, when a good player took a beat, i would start being a huge dick in the chat box, typing in all caps, just saying stuff to piss them off
as we all know, there are no friends at the poker table, its no holds barred. everyone is just there to try and take each other's money. so, if you think you can turn a good player into a bad player by acting like a total dick, is it theoretically correct to do so? is it ethical to do so? I.E.: solid player gets sucked out on by fish in 4k pot. Me:LOLLASK8S I THINK U WERE LIKE 92 PERCENT TO WIN ME: HOORAY HAHA U MUST B SO PISSED ME: ITS NICE THO ITS EASIER FOR ME TO TAKE IT NOW, ALTHO UR PROBABLY TILTING LIKE A MANIAC NOW etc etc etc thats even pretty tame actually, ive definitely done much much worse ps to anyone who has gotten pissed about it, im not actually like that just thinking/experimenting with this idea |

Generally, I find that playing like a dick makes people play back at you more, and generally, I prefer that they be afraid of me than to play back at me. |

That said, the best guys to do it against are probably guys who already bluff too much.

Re: theory/ethics- being an @sshole
if everyone did it then no one would get an edge from it
and I'd be surprised if it even gives you an edge anyway |

As for my chat at the tables, I only very rarely initiate, but will often times talk [censored]/needle people after they talk first.
