Re: A 3-bet pot poll.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] quick thoughts: any A check/call any J check/call any K shove (4) any Q shove (4) any T shove (4) any 5,9 shove (8) any 6,7,8 check/fold any 2-4 check/fold so I'd shove 20 out of 46 turns... so thats ~43% [/ QUOTE ] Why do you prefer c/c over shoving an A or J? [/ QUOTE ] The off chance he thinks we are making a play which is likely given the history he could float this small raise planning to shove a lot of turns so we can pick off those hands. Thinking about it more though I think a T on the turn is a fold as 99 represents a lot of his range so I'd bet even less. |

Re: A 3-bet pot poll.
just under 25% of the time
This assumes 11 almost-outs: shove turned ace shove turned ten or turned 5 (checkcall turned jack) If opponent was a bit of a folderson and not very good (ie would assign equal probability to you cr'ing a combo draw or naked oesd with the dummy end of the straight in addition to the top end), you could shove 40%. Thats 19 outs to "hit" (touch?). Four 5s, four 4s, four 9s, four tens, 3 aces. These calculations are very rough and simplistic, and dont account for villain calling a certain % of the time as opposed to 100%, and they dont take into account pot size, either.Ie they dont give an EV calc. |

Re: A 3-bet pot poll.
this guy has two nines, two tens, two jacks, and maaaaybe two queens 97% of the time (accurate).
his range is weight to two tens, almost exclusively, with two jacks second most likely, and queens- nines a toss us for least likely... but not much else is really feasible, except possibly pair+straight draw with random garbage-ish type hands. i believe the answer is to bet about 40% of turns. all spades for sure, shove them, and it's not close... i'd still try to move him off this hand a good % of the time when i whiffed the turn, and DEF bet a jack, and almost always chekc an ace...... |
