NL400: Weakly-played QQ
Villain in this hand is solid from what I can tell (don't have a ton of reads on 400NL regs yet but this guy appears to be one).
I thought the turn was an obvious check behind. Agreed? Is this pretty much standard? PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com Button ($578.70) SB ($378) BB ($698.10) UTG ($240) Hero ($533.30) CO ($189.10) Preflop: Hero is MP with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls $4, Hero raises to $20, 1 fold, Button calls $20, SB calls $18, 1 fold, UTG calls $16. Cause I would have called a blank river, and I can't really see him having an ace. |

Re: NL400: Weakly-played QQ
yea but could easily be a 45s type of hand. I'd bet turn and as played fold river.

Re: NL400: Weakly-played QQ
I don't think the turn check is standard at all here. If he flopped a straight is he really c/c the flop with others still to act after him? Same with a set. Seems really bad. Only hand I truly worry about is 64s.
As played, river looks like a fold since lots of 2pers got there as well as 1pers that rivered a straight. |

Re: NL400: Weakly-played QQ
Calling preflop w/ 64s would be pretty bad wouldn't it? OOP and not closing the action?
I guess I made his range too narrow but I figured a PP was about all he could have here, and I didn't see him c/c'ing the flop w/ like 88. |

Re: NL400: Weakly-played QQ
Yes it would be bad. But that is the only hand that could take this line. Even A4 most definetly puts some sort of raise on the flop. So what I was saying is that 64s is the only hand I worry about having us beat. Sets and lower straights play this hand differently.

Re: NL400: Weakly-played QQ
Don't check behind on the turn 100% of the time with overpairs.
I understand for pot control/bluff inducing etc. but it helps prevent [censored] situations on the river like this where we have no idea if we are good or not. |
