anyone here has a thing to say about WFG?

some WFG (World Financial Group) members have been trying to get my GF into their company. They asked her to go to a meeting with free foods and drinks and everyone dressed professionally with nice smile on their face, based of my poker sense I know something is fxxked up is going on behind these guys, so we went on and listen to their presentation, they bragged about how much money they are making since they joined and how much we should be making. I just smell that whole thing like the send-a-dollar-in-an-envelope scam. So I pull my gf out of the meeting. So I told my brother, who's an accounting grad out of UCLA, about this WFG meeting and he told me I was stupid, because he also thinks that WFG is running legit business, otherwise WFG should've been shutted down by the states. So I was trying to do a google search on this company and there're good and bad reviews about this company. What do you guys think?
