Preflop check up - 400NL
400NL Party
Hand converter ain't working for me..... Stacks 400 Folded to me on button I make it 14 with Ac7c Bad fish(40/18) calls in SB Good regular makes it $55 from BB we have pretty similar stats (25/19) - he is better than me - we have 3 bet each other lots in the past but not today. I can't recall any 4 bet scenarios I make it $165 (ok size?) Fish folds Villain pushes I do the old fold & reload Standard????? |

Re: Preflop check up - 400NL
My opening range OTB is huge obviously - Villain knows this - and once the SB fish calls then VIllains Squeezing range should be huge..
Was $165 a little too big? |

Re: Preflop check up - 400NL
Yes, the size is too big because it commits you to the pot :
equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 29.813% 28.36% 01.46% 21850080 1122316.50 { Ac7c } Hand 1: 70.187% 68.73% 01.46% 52958967 1122316.50 { JJ+, AQs+, AQo+ } If you think his pushing range is tighter, the fold is marginally better though. Ace-weak are the worst hand to 4-bet with, I would have just let it go. |

Re: Preflop check up - 400NL
If you're 4bet bluffing, why are weak aces bad? They make AA, AK and AQ less likely for our opponent, and as long as we plan on folding to an all-in anyway it doens't matter how good our hand is other than that.
I'd make the 4bet smaller though. |
