Lower pocket pairs i open fold here, higher ones i push. How do you play mid-pairs like this, and what do you do after the push with no strong read?

I think with your stack size you should open fold if you are not willing to call if you get shoved on. If you are going to 2.5bbs pre then i would feel obligated to call a shove.

(this is just my thinking, and i am learning, so it could be way off)

I don't really like open raising this utg and I think you're too deep/blinds too low and opponents call ranges are too wide to make this a +ev shove. Fold. As played in a 6.5 I probably call b/c my stack kinda sucks and we could be ahead I guess.

It's a crappy spot and I think I'd have to lay it down. We've still got 10BB's and a bit of time to play with rather than taking a flip here.

When I'm not feeling well and want to donk around with fps moves, this is exactly the sort of hand and stack size I like to limp-jam with.

Open shoving & raise/call are both fine. Don't open fold at all but don't fold if you raise minus a ninja read.
I would call vs someone named Geller-Green. You can find like 55+,AJ+ vs some.

With no read you fold 88 to start with and don't get yourself into these tricky spots.
I call here though. You are going to be flipping most of the time and being left with < 1000 chips is no fun at all.
