You can do projections for quarterbacks based on their games started and their completion percentage.

[/ QUOTE ]David Lewin does not do this. Or, not exactly. How high scouts rank person is relevent. Just because you start a lot of games and complete high % of passes doesn't mean much if scouts think you suck.

but is he nfl material?

Won't really know from his stats.

See Ryan Leaf or Rick Mirer...

Ryan Leaf 56% completion rate his final year... hmmm maybe we should have known from his college stats.

Tim Couch would be a better example of a huge bust with great college stats.

I was responding to Bernie, who was using example of Ryan Leaf and Rick Mirer.

Furthermore, Colt Brennan is obviously thought of highly by scouts.

Yeah, Tim Couch is a good example. 67.1% completion percentage, and he started nearly every game of his college career.

It was obviously a good system (hello Mike Leach). Hawaii's system is obviously QB friendly, but given how much better Chang is than Brennan you have to wonder just how friendly it is.

Wouldn't Brennan have been better served coming out last year, or not?

no Mike Hart anywhere? hm

[/ QUOTE ]

Makes sense. He isn't a great NFL prospect. Two knocks: his size and his top speed. I personally doubt his size will be much of a liability, but his top gear is. He does have great vision, never fumbles, and has a lot of power for a little guy, plus he has "intangibles", in that he is a hard-working dedicated mofo. So I dunno, 3rd/4th/5th round?
