Who\'s the best? A test -
Starting with the semifinals there have now been 72 performances. Quickly, off the top of your head, which really good performances can you remember? Not just "xxx did well in week two" but with at least some detailed memory of the performance. I think this is a pretty good test of who really has star quality.
For me, it's: Melinda 2 (My Funny Valentine, I Am Woman) LaKisha 1 (I Am Telling You I'm Not Going) Blake 1 (All Mixed Up) Stephanie 1 (How Come You Don't Call Me) and really, that's about it. None of the others have turned in a truly memorable performance for me - I think that says a lot given they have had four shots, including three weeks where they could pick almost whatever song they want.

Not sure this really correlates with winning, though. For all of last season I score Taylor and Katherine at 2 and Elliot at 1.

[/ QUOTE ] Every single Melinda perforamnce The last two Jordan performances The first Lakesha performance The first Blake performance The 2nd Chris Richardson performance These were the best IMO, maybe forgetting one, but Melinda is basically the best ever.

Going by which were most memorable, the best were -
Every Melinda performance The first Lakisha performance Gina singing evanescence Blake singing Keane Sanjaya doing the Hula Those are what I think of when I think of this season.

Blake's only stand out in my mind was ironically the only song he didn't beat box on: "Somewhere only we know" Keane
He is the most overrated one in this competition so far. And that's saying a lot. Of course he looks decent compared to the other males because they all suck for the most part! Melinda: Anything she does is better than anyones else's best night (Last season she would have finished in the top 4 but this season she's easily the best IMO) Lakisha: And I'm telling you (Everything else has been meh IMO) Chris: Geek in the pink

Oh wait that was last season...but it was so fing good I still remember it. This year it was Melinda's week 2 and 3 performances Lakisha's first performance Sundance's audition LOL Unfortunately that's about it with this field.

I really thinkt he judges would like to have some of their choices back. They get credit for "discovering" the next Idol, but they dropped the ball on who made it onto the show.
