I don't know where to post this but I guess ssnl? Sorry for the clutter.

But where did Hero and Villian get started in hand histories? And how? Just curious.

I think that it's just suggesting that "hero" is equivalent to "good guy" and "villain" is equivalent to "bad guy".

Rumor has it that it all began on a sunny autumn day in Louisianna, back in 1938..
