Default NL25 - AA, help me out with the concept of pot control

Villian is unknown, is checking behind on this flop a healthy example of pot control?

Or am I totally lost with this concept? Set me straight [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

No, this is an example of missing value.

With AA in a re-raised pot you WANT all the money in.

With that said, checking AA here is ok sometimes, but you do it for deception, with the intention of betting big on the turn and river. This is NOT a "pot control" situation.

The only time you might consider controlling that pot is if villian was a super nit (folds to every flop bet, only shows down winners, low PFR, etc).

You WILL lose with AA sometimes. It just happens. It's still worth getting it AI againt most players.

your not really worried about alot of cards except a 2pr, or a mirracle set. I don't think the check here is too horribly bad, but not because of pot control. You might get him to lead a hand he would fold on the flop.
