i felt he was so weak that a raise on that river meant a boat too often to make 3 betting worthwhile. i was wrong though as this was before i had realised he was playing looser (and drunker) in vegas this summer than he does at commerce.

interesting. ive seen it several times.

dpr do you know kms?

No, I do not know him. There is a chance I played with him in the Bellagio 1/2.

If your read is that he is likely to do this and he likes to make terrbile plays (weak-tight would have nothing to do with it IMO), then I can admit my opinion is of limited value.

"Players at this limit generally bet and raise until they are pretty sure they are beat and then they call (see mike, I was listening)."

lol. perhaps i am wrong to assume the games become significantly at such a high limit!?

yeah, i like the flop line he suggested, but the turn raise is kind of a spew, and there is reasonably no way you can profitably call a 3-bet on the turn even if it happens 1 out of 5 times.

[/ QUOTE ]

why would you not call a 3bet?

im not sure but i think he might check the turn with a boat sometime.

[/ QUOTE ]

blah i misread the turn action again, i thought there was someone left to act behind him and he could have been checkraising.

3-bet/fold is the way to go.

If he had bet the turn, then a river call makes a lot more sense. Since he checked it through I think you're missing out on a bet when you don't threebet this river. People really don't check boats behind.
