AA. deep stacks. low drawy board.
Cryptologic - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)
SB: $58.00 BB: $49.25 Hero (UTG): $170.00 CO: $64.80 BTN: $49.25 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players) Hero raises to $2.00, CO calls $2.00, 3 folds Flop: ($4.75) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $4.50, CO calls $4.50 Turn: ($13.75) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, CO bets $8.00, Hero calls $8.00 River: ($29.75) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks This hand confuses me. My opponent is TAG (by stats, no reads), I believe he could call IP with wide range of hands getting good implied odds. Flop kinda tensed me. I cbet standard. Turn I check for pot control (???) not sure of this action, in fact I think it is a mistake because of a lot of draws. Villain bets. What could he have at this point? Overpair? I think most likely he would raised flop. Set? Easily. Two pair? Possible. FD,SD? May be. Bluff after float? Could be. At that point I was afraid of set and made str8 and decided to call. River is somewhat safe. I decide to check-call. Generally my play seems weak to me. How do you think? |

Why does that 9 scare you? Bet the turn.

betting the turn would have probably eliminated the need for this post.

Re: AA. deep stacks. low drawy board.
Ok.What if I bet turn and get raised over the top. If I call - I am going to the felt, so its better to push. But I have only 1 pair. Do you think it is justified here?

Re: AA. deep stacks. low drawy board.
If you get raised on turn, snap-shove. I think you are good here very often.

Re: AA. deep stacks. low drawy board.
CO isn't that deep stacked.
Bet turn....IF you don't bet it, then c/r. |

Re: AA. deep stacks. low drawy board.
Until he shows some sort of aggression and tells you that he has a real hand, and maybe not some kind of draw or weak pair, I would not stop trying to get value out of it, as well as protecting your overpair.

Re: AA. deep stacks. low drawy board.
I'm definitely leading that flop, I may be suspicious if you got reraised on the flop, but he's probably seeing your check on the turn as weak and taking a stab at it, $8 into $14 is kinda weak y'know? Definitely betting that turn, but as played I'm raising his $8 bet.

Re: AA. deep stacks. low drawy board.
I often check turn with AA like this when dealing with aggressive opponents/floaters, but def not on a board like this.
