I think check behind on the turn. Why fall for the CR and why only bet half the pot unless you want to look like you are just trying to pick it up for nothing?

My tought was: if I check behind he will bet the river (maybe bet big). Let's contain him on the turn and then check the river. I never tought he would check raise.
