Default Hows this for bad PR management.

Tunica Miss. About 2 yrs ago.
Smaller room---Hollywood Casino. One table going.
Playing 3-6 with a four friends it's about 8pm.
We have been playing for nearly 4 hours.
Old man number one sits down and gets a comp.
Gets the food delivered to the table and chows down.
My lil bro starts talking about getting some food.
Before you know it half the table is asking for a comp (to eat at the table). Floorman says we have only been playing for 3.5hrs and at 4hrs he will comp us.
Why can't we order now---since it takes 30min-1hr to receive food at the table?

He doesn't comp and we break the game and head to the horseshoe to play some poker.
Never been back.
M.

Where i play, in northern california, you would be lucky to get comped a free cup of water. However, i personly think that eating at the table is nasty, not only for you because chips can get so friggin dirty but also some guy is licking his fingers, throwing in his chips, you are handling them and then eating your food. When i eat i go to the 5.99 buffet.

half the table as in you lil bro and three friends?
Floorman says we have only been playing for 3.5hrs and at 4hrs he will comp us.

You are NITS and just reinforced the stupid floorman's decision not to comp.
Never been back.
Secrectly in the floorman's heart of hearts, he is glad
M.

Clearly the old guy was a regular and gave the room enough action to justify a comp. You were tourists and needed to fufil the requirements. Personally, I think the floorman was stupid but he can't let the players run the room.

PS. WTF? why not go ahead and order, tell the waitress the comp will be here when the food arrives. WTF2? You broke a game because the floorman wouldn't kiss your but? After rereading, it sounds like 4 or 5 strangers in the room demanding comps they haven't earned. Then they break the game because they are unwilling to play another half hour to justify the comp. Evidence is mounting to support the floorman's posistion.

Nah it wasn't dominic.
I think he's a great guy. Probabaly the only "old school" poker room manager left in the southeast U.S.
I've got nothing but respect for a straight shooter.

I agree that you can't let the players run the room but on the other hand---Why not let this happen? It keeps the players happy/the game running/rake dropping/hell my friend that sounds like job security to me!
Enough of these blunders and you have what you get.
One three/six game that runs sometimes!

Also---tunica is light yrs away from the rest of the poker world as far as comps.
Most of the time I don't even have to play a single hand to get comped for the buffet.
