Hero's getting 2.5:1 to call the 3bet AI, which means he needs 1 / (2.5 + 1) = 28% equity to call.

Another way of looking at it: he's calling $36.95, so the 0EV point is where his equity in the final pot is exactly $36.95, so 36.95 / (pot on flop + money that goes in on flop) = 36.95 / (8 + 61.95 + 61.95) = 28%

nah not really. nobody does those things on the fly, except maybe for the limit geeks.
