I am assuming he has T8 or T9, only getting 2 to 1, would he really not have a T or 5 here or higher set 1 out of 3 times?

I would fold, since if he has a T it costs you 70+ BB's and if he doesnt, he is so bad that you'll make up the pot fairly easily.

I sometimes block bet here, checking is just inviting a fish player to make a huge bluff at the river. If you don't think fish are smart enough to do that your sadly mistaken. I play 10/20 stakes, and i've seen a fish call me down till the river with a missed AK, and bluff on these exact situations. Also what range of hands do you think he's call pot size bets with... he's gotta have a hand on the turn... maybe an over pair, two pair.... Man fish are so hard to read, but in this situation I sometimes call and pray.

this was a really bad call vs this guy, hes not dumb enough to think 2 pair is good and hes not smart enough to bluff with an obviously beat made hand, which basically all draws turned into

Isn't that the definition of a fish ??
I agree that leading folding or check folding is the only line here. They are just usualy so happy to check down 2 pair there and go to show down

From my perspective it looks like a call, because the board is ripe for bluffing, he rarely has a higher set, and i dont think he's gonna show up with a T/5 all that often given the action. But I dont know the dude.

@ you and Kirk: Think like a bad player who bought in short and doubled up with 83s. You have top pair or two pair on a scary board and are closing the action. Why bluff?

I think this is a fold. In my experience fish are better at stationing it up then value value shoving with 2 pair.

most fish click call a lot, not shove 4 straight boards as bluffs. i think this is a bad call.

if your passive kind of callfish is going to bluff this kind of river (unlikely), it's not going to be insta

and baluga, why cant he show up with 65, 85, 75, 7T or 6T here?

whether i fold prob. depends on my mood, but it def. looks like a fold.
