I think I am the only person left who does not play 6max....what is the benefit of it? Is it more profitable? Do boni clear faster because you get hands in quicker? Thanks for any info...

I switched this summer, more 6max games running than FR games was the primary reason, then I realized how bad the 6max players are. Switch immediately, it may be a long painstaking, arduous journey, as I found it, but it is definitely worth it for the $$$

More hands played = More potential mistakes = More mobney for you.

Most people fail to adjust to 6max sufficiently - they either play far too LAG, or they play standard full ring strategy.

might be boredom since you have to play tighter at full ring. i prefer 6max but play full ring to clear bonuses.

I play full ring and suck at 6 max. I tend to spew there. But I tend to play decently when full ring gets short handed. Maybe it's a psycological thing.

You aren't alone.

I hear all the time it's more profitable.... and I see there are 6max tables all over the place.. but I HATE it. I happen to LIKE the way full ring feels, and whether I am winning or losing 6max isn't any fun for me. Just not my style at ALL to play the way you have to to survive in 6max.

Ya faster hands is more $ hour if you're a winner. Ya boni clear faster too.

Further, you improve as a player faster, forced to make more decisions/hr = more experience.

conclusion: 6max rules yo

If you are good at observing opponents (or use PT or similar), you can collect info about opponents more quickly. I've also noticed that VPIP has wider range in 6max (which makes it easier to differentiate opponent styles).

6-max is great if you are aggressive and make a religion out of playing in position. Since it has a tendency to attract action addicts, it also has greater profit potential if you play well against loose aggressive players.

If you are a bad player, calling too much, playing too many hands and so on; then your "strategy" is more suitable for 6 max.
