Re: Do you keep your full stack on the table after a couple big wins?
[ QUOTE ]
so this is generally frowned upon i see. Aside from the social aspects, do you see this as beneficial? i could easily just leave the table go cash out and get lunch, come back with 250 buy in and play a diff table [/ QUOTE ] It's not just frowned upon, it is a flat out scummy thing to do, and completely against the rules. It is a pain if you have a very good day and are out of your comfort zone. On my best day in 1/2 NL, I had gotten up to $1250, and had two players with similar stacks on the table. I had to leave because the prospect of playing 600 BB deep spooked me, even though the table in general was still quite good, and for all I knew the other two players were more scared of me than I was of them. |

As others have probably mentioned, you can't do that. You can leave and come back, however.

Re: Do you keep your full stack on the table after a couple big wins?
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, it is frowned upon. No, it is not beneficial for the good player. There is an advantage in having the table covered. Yes, it is beneficial for the bad player. [/ QUOTE ] Huh? I thought it was pretty commonly accepted that if you're a better player than everybody else at the table you're better off with a big stack. |

Re: Do you keep your full stack on the table after a couple big wins?
Going South is a scumbag move that only scumbags do. Take chips off the table and into your pocket during a session and there's a picture of you in the dictionary next to "scumbag".
Besides, from a strategy point of view, don't you want to be the big stack pushing others around? Or a passive weenie who expects to lose big? |

Re: Do you keep your full stack on the table after a couple big wins?
Is it really the same thing? Whenever I played in AC, when I changed the table, I was actually told by the dealers to pocket everything in excess of the max buyin, and they would color me up specifically for that purpose.
