Re: How is my River \"Blocking\" bet?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] As I said, anything larger than $2 would have pry gotten folds. I want action with AQs, no? I know I goofed the flop. Why bet turn with the nuts? Why not let him catch up on the river? [/ QUOTE ] no, still raise more pf on the turn, if he has a flush draw, its OBVIOUSLY better to bet the turn, you see why? And what other hands can he "catch up" with [/ QUOTE ] Why raise more preflop? This is NL50, right? so 4xBB seems fine to me. I usually raise either 3x or 4x. If you usually raise more, what is your reasoning? |

Re: How is my River \"Blocking\" bet?
Look at my name when I say this. I suck but this hand is gross. Please reread above posts. If you don't lead flop which you should, you have to check raise more than the min. God I hate that. After you check raise you check? Did you think he would bet? 99 % of the time after you check raise flop you should lead turn. gl.

Re: How is my River \"Blocking\" bet?
5 mistakes on 4 streets, that's classic.
EDIT: OK, I'll make this more worthwhile: PLAY LESS TABLES. You're obviously not ready to multi-table. |

Re: How is my River \"Blocking\" bet?
Well, thanks for the input.
I knew if he made any kind of hand on the river he was going to come back at me, and that's why I bet so little. I figured I'd either get a lot of money out of him with a re-raise or nothing. Let's say he folded the river. Then I see where it would have been better to charge him on the turn with the draw. I don't mind the line I took, but in hindsight betting is better. How much should I have bet on the turn, $12? |

Re: How is my River \"Blocking\" bet?
You migh want to make it a bit more preflop, but that's not a big deal. The flop and turn are big deals though. They are extremely ugly. First of all, lead the flop. And make it 3/4 pot or more. The option you took on the flop is close to the absolute worst option you could take. If you want to check, make a bigger raise. Even a flat call is better than the min-raise.
And lead the turn. That check is so bad. No need to check and let him catch up. You can bet and let him catch up. Charge him to draw dead. What could be better? And fake blocking bet at this level = fancy play syndrome + horrible play. Players bluff-raise that bet close to never. Check raise the river all-in if you want to induce a bluff. Bet bigger if you put him on a made hand somehow. |
