Why is it the Russians hate blacks so much? I can't understand the history there.

jeez.. i'm from detroit, worked there for a year last year. Nothing really to be worried about. Honestly, Detroit is no different than any other city in the world. Don't be stupid and draw attention to yourself. There are going to be good places in the city and there are going to be bad places. Both of the casino's are in good places in town and with the mass transit system (ie - the people mover) you can park in parking ramp and get on it and never even see the street...

It's not that we hate blacks, it's just that there aren't any. I lived in Russia until I was 13, and during that time, saw one black person. FWIW, I wasn't from Moscow, and I'm sure there are more black people there than in other parts of the country, but probably not by much.

And it's not only blacks that aren't liked. People aren't generally liked unless they are white & Russian, including Gypsies, people from southern Russian speaking ex-soviet republics (Georgia/Turkmenistan, etc), Jews, and anybody dark skinned really.

It's pretty ignorant, but that's how we roll for some reason. :\

I also wouldn't worry about getting robbed in Moscow. It's more expensive than NYC to live there, there's plenty of other people besides you to rob. People WILL try to scam you every step of the way though. From overcharging to giving you misleading information for the purposes of getting money. (Last time I arrived @ airport, I was told by airport employee the bus to metro was broken, & taxi was the only way to go, which was a lie).

Russians in general don't hate blacks, Caucasians etc. Of course there is some percent of haters, which is probably bigger than in the US, England or Australia as the country is less educated, but, come on, any generalisation is ridiculous.

I'm a jew and I look like a jew and I had no problems living here for my whole life. I hope we'll have EPT event soon, may be it will attract more players to the country and they will see that it's not Burundi or Sierra-Leone, though my feeling about these countries may be as far from reality as your's about Russia [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Yeah, seriously. I've got a bunch of friends from Zambia who spend a year studying in Russia. They knew several people who got beaten by skinheads, and one of them was stabbed and killed.

Russia is a beautifull wide-spread in different ways country with it's cruel and great pieces of history. The majority of people living there are very normal open-minded and have a big heart for everything that worth beeing on this planet.
