Default Did I analyze this right? 3rd pair considering river call.

Ok, I may have donked this up. I'm not that experienced in ring games...
UTG has been opening liberally from any position and generally lagging it up. No read on button as he just got to the table.
My combo draw on 4th turns into a pair of tens and I think I am ahead so I put out a blocking bet which he instashoves over. I am thinking he would flat call if he had a K or J, so I figure he either has a boat or air and I am getting 4-1. I called, thoughts on all streets are appreciated.

What makes you think your pair is good initially? There's btw virtually no way he's bluff raising river this shallow stacked.

I thought he wasn't calling turn with a gutshot, maybe a flush draw, if he had paired the K he probably raises the turn. Jacks probably bet the flop. If he flopped a set he gave 3 opponents a chance to hit the turn.

Bought in for $240, I know there's a ton of hate for shortstackers, but I am trying to learn and am comfortable in the 30-40 bb range due to tons of MTTs. I think this is a more worthwhile experience than playing 1/2 and buying in full.

I was thinking it was a blocking bet, but it wasn't a very good one with respect to his stack size since I committed myself.

If ur trying to learn deep stack poker and to beat cash games, then do not buy in for 40bb at a higher level. Pick a level where you can comfortably buy in for 100bb and then drop one level from there and get in 25-50k hands atleast.

As for the hand he can def be shoving a king on the river he is a [censored] shortstack, also he can have [censored] like aq, a2 etc,

You will learn cash faster buying in full at a lower level. A lot of what you need to learn is the deepstack stuff remember.

Blocking bets are a bit of a joke among MSNL'ers. River bet doesn't get called by worse so it makes sense only to induce a bluff. I would check the river or shove to fold out a J.
